No side-by-side here
This page does not compare Sculptra to other fillers. Read the three documents below and ask your provider for a side-by-side on the exact products they offer.
What a fair comparison needs
A fair comparison needs the same questions asked of each product. What is it made of, what is it meant to do, how is it placed, and what happens if you want it reversed.

One of the documents is a research paper, an in vitro study of poly-(l-lactic acid) particles and collagen synthesis. It was done in a lab setting, not on patients. Ask your provider whether it relates to the product they would use. The page the FDA keeps on dermal fillers is a regulator's overview. ASPS has an article on dissolving filler that bears on the reversal question.
Requests to make of your provider
- Ask your provider to name each product they would consider for you.
- For each one, ask what it is made of and what it is meant to do.
- For each one, ask whether it can be reversed and how.
- Ask for the product's FDA-related paperwork, if any, to review at home.
Choosing is not this page's job
Do not rely on this page to choose between products. This site reads product documents but is not a prescriber, so take nothing here as medical advice. The choice belongs to you and a licensed provider who has examined you.
